某破舊醫院，在改造過程中由於經費緊張而瀕臨倒閉，院長隨後也下落不明。這裏的醫療環境極其惡劣，為了節約經費竟然將用過的針頭重複使用。病患得不到良好的照顧，醫護人員和病人都處於焦躁不安的狀態。在這種慌亂的情況下，醫療事故不可避免地發生了。一次搶救過程中，小護士安積圓（星野真裏 飾）忙中出錯將氯化鉀當成氯化鈣注入病人體內，最終致使病人死亡。經過一番激烈爭論，參加搶救的魚住大夫（高嶋政伸 飾）、秋葉大夫（佐藤浩市 飾）和護士們達成共識，決定將這起醫療事故隱瞞下來。 一切看似從未發生，一切仿佛無人知曉。但這隻是一係列恐怖事件的開始。此後不久，一種神秘致命病毒開始在瀕臨崩潰的醫院內傳播……
