少年舉目無親，在空蕩蕩的豪宅裏當管家。豪宅的主人是一位退休的將軍，他的突然歸來打破了少年平靜的生活，對少年而言，將軍即是長輩，也像父親，兩人結下了不解之緣。不久，將軍開始全力競選市長，周圍始終有人對他虎視眈眈。在將軍的威嚴與挑唆下，少年決定出麵幹涉。影片取材於導演馬克布爾·穆巴拉克青年時期的真實經曆，運用精致的構圖、昏暗的色彩基調和懸疑驚悚的類型元素，構建出了一個以權力腐敗作為社會規則的恐怖世界。兩位主角之間操控與反抗的緊張關係，是對印度尼西亞社會長期存在的壓迫與不公正現象的絕佳隱喻。榮獲2022年威尼斯電影節平行單元費比西影評人獎。
