朱麗葉（西德妮·斯威尼 Sydney Sweeney 飾）從小就生活在姐姐薇薇安（麥迪森·伊瑟曼 Madison Iseman 飾）的光環之下，薇薇安比她漂亮，比她有才華，比她受歡迎，還考入了她夢寐以求的音樂學院。所有人都堅信薇薇安在音樂方麵前途無量，終將功成名就。 一次偶然中，朱麗葉撿到了一位自殺的女生遺留下來的樂譜，她演奏了這份樂譜，並且被其中詭異而又優美的旋律所深深吸引。學校正在招募音樂會鋼琴獨奏的人選，薇薇安顯然是勝算最大的那一個，然而，朱麗葉憑借撿到的樂譜將這個機會從姐姐的手中奪走，這亦造成了姐妹反目。之後，朱麗葉感到自己內心的欲望越來越膨脹，她想要得到更多。
